Just set-up the starting position, focus, ending position and step size. Then press the button and several photos later you have enough source material to feed to Helicon Focus. The software, as ever obliging, spits out nice, sharp photos using all the frames you captured. Nice.

Various dresses were tried. Different makeup styles were tested. And finally new poses have been exercised. Then, off she went to a New Year’s party leaving me to post process the photos. Two strobes – one camera left at 1/2 power, the other camera right at 1/4 power, triggered through SU-800.

Most if not all of the shots are keepers. Like this one. And there is not that much that I have to do in Lightroom. I set-up the camera to ‘Camera Neutral’ and selected the same camera profile in LR. Now when I import my photos I can see ever so slight change, when the thumbnails are regenerated. Before the observed change was much bigger. I guess it means that I ended up with LR setting that match closely my D700 :-)

What I noticed in the shooting data is that I am not extracting/missing the info on the flash settings. Sure it shows correctly that the mode was manual. It fails to show the strength of the flash. Was it on full power or less. I know for a fact that it was set to 1/4. Have to check my exif extraction scripts.
