I was trying a new setup consisting of 2 SB-900 mounted on Manfrotto 5001B light stands, shooting through Westcott umbrellas. SB-900s were set to manual firing at 1/16th of the full power. I have to admit that I like the quality of light one gets when using brollies. It is much softer, more pleasant to look at.</p>

So, for this picture I placed a sheet of black cloth on the table and used four clamps to stretch it tight. I then placed the plexi glass on top of this to provide the reflective surface. Over the table I angled a white board to provide a white surface that the camera would see in the reflection of the plexi glass. I used three lights. One SB-28 on full power and 24mm zoom was angled up and fired bare at the white board. This provided the nice graduated reflection on the glass. The front of the mug was lit with a second SB-28 on half power, 24mm zoom and fired through a softbox. A third SB-28 on 1/2 power and 85mm zoom was fired through a grid to provide a rim light on the back of the mug. All the flashes were fired by PW.<br />

I don&#8217;t have the PDF of the page from the mags art director yet but will post it as soon as I do.It was shot in Morzine/Avoriaz, France, over New Years but Ive had to hold back until it was in print.</p>
<p>Check out the mag at Borders, WH Smith, etc, I have a some more images throughout as well.</p>
<p>Shot with two strobes. One camera right, bare, the other centre frame, gelled red.
