I know I’m repeating myself, but I love my Nikkor AF-S VR Micro 105mm f/2.8 G IF-ED lens. Here is another example of using it for non-macro shots. I love the colors, the depth of field, the way the out-of-focus foreground darkens the white tents. Then again, I might be heavily influenced by the atmosphere of the place itself.

very nice color composition. I first thought that there are shadows from the trees on the tent. Did you use a filter or a “lot” of lightroom PP? Well done!

No filter has been hurt while shooting this photo. Some are shadows but most are out-of-focus tree branches that were between me and the tent.
