With all the news about photographers being accosted by overzealous security guards I remembered this photo taken by ‘mugley’ and the ‘problems’ he had. Just read the photographer’s comments.

Got the second-lamest anti-photography excuse ever from a concierge in this building:
“You can’t take photos of the building because we have a body corporate.”
Told her I could shoot whatever I liked as long as I wasn’t trespassing, and we both went on our merry ways. I suppose I should give her credit for not using The Lamest Excuse (ie anything including the word “terrorism”), but sheesh – what is wrong with businesses in Southbank?
With the hotels and retail areas so heavily dependent on tourism dollars, why are they so keen on attitudes that seem perfect for alienating camera-toting tourists?
