I then decided to go higher. So I replaced my 105mm with 70-300mm zoom and reverse mounted the 50mm. This in theory should have given me 6x magnification at 300mm. Focusing is very difficult.. And image quality suffers. Don’t know if this loss of image quality is due to the fact that I had a zoom instead of a prime. Perhaps I was getting tired. I’ll have to try these higher ratios later.
